We teach and research the Future!

dekenasszony.jpg Since its beginning in September 2001, the Faculty of Information Technology has been a unique academic institution in Europe. Under the leadership of Professor Tamas Roska, a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, nearly thirty internationally renowned researchers and professors contribute to its exclusive curriculum. At the Faculty, engineers are formed who have had a significant exposure to some academic disciplines of life sciences, particularly the neuro- and immune systems and genetics. Hence, the information processing of living organisms are studied as well. These disciplines are essential also because of the new industry emerging at the frontiers of information and bio technology and inspiring the creation of new products and services.

This multidisciplinary approach to education inspires the students to perceive the world in a more complex way. So when faced with a scientific or professional problem, new in its form or content, the students are capable of arriving at a solution that others, lacking this multidisciplinary education, could not arrive at. A newly accredited program in Molecular Bionics run in conjunction with Semmelweis Medical University, further broadens this spectrum.

Our present undergraduate program has two types of specializations: Academic and Applied. In the Academic Specialization, the students are prepared for graduate programs. In the Applied Specialization, the students, upon completing their studies, have obtained the marketable skills and qualifications needed to obtain the best employment possible.

We expect talented students, interested in a new multidisciplinary education, who wish to learn the state-of-the-art technology of the new century. We are certain that this approach leads towards the future.
